Valve added another of his Steam Labs experiences in Clean steam. The latest new feature for upgrading from beta to live product is “Experience 008: play next.” This tool offers games from your library using your habits and machine learning. Maybe now you can finally get through this heap of shame (spoiler: you won’t do it).
You can find Play Next in Steam as soon as you update to the latest version. Once you’ve done that, go to your library. Play Next should appear as one of your game shelves. This should help anyone with a large library of games to search their order book. And since tons of people always buy more games than they play at each Steam sale, many people should find this useful.
If you don’t want the machines to tell you what to play, you can delete Play Next and replace it with something else. Or you can move it up and down relative to your other shelves.
But it works? Valve claims it uses A.I. to make recommendations. But does that mean he knows the games you will enjoy the most? Well, that certainly seems to have me. My main recommendations are Superhot VR, Cuphead, Gorn and Hollow Knight. Now, I’ve already played Superhot VR and Cuphead on other platforms, but Steam is absolutely right in assuming that I would enjoy these games. I played them and I love them.
I’m also sure I would dig Gorn and Hollow Knight. These two games were already at the top of my mental shame stack. But now Steam can remind me too.
